Here are a few of the ladies of Carlton Standhill Infants School in Nottingham, who recently ordered a selection of our royal blue plain tabards.
The school tell us that they’re thrilled with their new tabards, and are confident that they’ll last for many years to come. They also fit in with the schools colour scheme perfectly!
Please use this link if you require a special order of tabards or aprons for your school or organisation. We will be very happy to help and will do our very best to create whatever garments you need…
When it comes to selling aprons on a UK online store, possibly one of the last places you think they’ll end-up would be Mongolia’s Gobi Desert. Yet – thanks to a recent order from a new customer – that’s exactly where they’ve ended up…
Sally Curtis spent 3 weeks travelling around Central Asia, and Mongolia in particular over the summer. Prior to departing, she wished to present the Mongolian desert chefs (she would be meeting) with traditional UK gifts. What better present could she have chosen that an authentic ‘3 Lions’ England novelty apron from the Apron Heaven website?
Apron Heaven meets Inner-Mongolia
Here (photoed above) are four of the chefs presented with our aprons by Sally during her trip. The chefs, cooked lots of mutton dishes, noodles and dumplings for their English guests. We’ve been inform that the cooks “absolutely love their new aprons, and are saving them for best”. Apron Heaven are flattered that Sally chose our products to give them, and thrilled that the aprons will be worn in such a remote part of the world – hopefully on many special culinary occasions.
It’s also fair to say that we’ll be pretty surprised to ever get an order in the future with such an interesting story behind it!
Nothing – repeat Nothing – beats Thai food as an international cuisine. And today is your lucky day, as I share with you what is (in my humble opinion), possibly the best recipe for Thai noodle soup you’ll find anywhere in the world. Inspired from my travels to the northern part of the country around Chiang Mai and Pai, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve made it. Now I share it with you. No more will you have to settle for dour Chinese takeaways and fish n’ chips every other night! So here it goes… You’ll need:
- 2 x tablespoons of groundnut oil
- 3 onions or 7 shallots
- 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
- 4 kaffir lime leaves
- 3 hot chilies (red or green)
- 2 teaspoons of brown sugar
- As many cloves of garlic as you like!
- 2 inches of Thai galangal (obtainable from most supermarkets – use ginger if you can’t obtain)
- 1/2 cauliflower (chopped)
- 1/2 broccoli (chopped)
- 3 carrots (chopped)
- 2 pints of beef or chicken stock
- 2 packs of rice noodles
- 2lbs of chicken or beef (chopped into small pieces)
- Juice of half a lime
- Chopped coriander (to garnish)
- 1 large wok and a wooden spoon
Before you start cooking, make sure you’re wearing your finest protective apron! Fry the groundnut oil for a couple of minutes, whilst boiling the chopped vegetables (use other veg if you’re not partial to carrots or cauliflower!). Then add the chopped chilli, garlic and galangal ginger. Once the veg are soft and these to the mix too. Cook the chicken/beef separately until tender then add these. After a few minutes add your stock, fish sauce and sugar, and allow to simmer for 20-25 minutes. Now add the rice noodles, which will only need cooking for a 3-4 minutes – before serving in individual bowls and sprinkling with the chopped coriander. Simple. Enjoy!
When it comes to cooking, it’s fair to say that many blokes out there don’t exactly jump up and down with excitement at the thought of the task in hand. Why should this be? Cooking (when done properly!) should be one of the great pleasures in life; a great opportunity for all the family to pitch-in and rustle up the family feast! When it comes to attire, might not even consider the mess made to your precious clothing – until it’s too late…
We supply a great range of practical, durable aprons for the task in hand. If you’re looking for value for money, then look no further. All our aprons are crafted right here in the UK, thanks to our fantastic team of cotton machinists based in east Manchester. If our novelty aprons are a bit too bold or flamboyant for your tastes, why not choose from our range of plain, striped and check aprons. You can relax, safe in the knowledge that your clothes are protected, with your trusty garment fully capable of taking the brunt of your cooking misdemeanors. We supply a substantial choice of colours, including: black, red, royal blue, navy, green, maroon and white – so you never need worry about spares if one is in the wash. If you wish to emulate your local butcher, we do a tradition stripe apron in either navy or red too!
To produce beef burgers on this scale is going to take a barbecue on another level compared to your usual Sunday afternoon get together. With several hundred pounds of beef to prepare – not to mention ketchup, mayo and beer spillages – the Apron you choose will need to be made of pretty strong stuff to cope with the inevitable pounding it’ll take from your culinary exploits!
Sure beats looking at a McDonald billboard ad!
Enough calories to last a lifetime!
Wouldn't be out of place at Texas Monster Trucks

We’re very excited to start this Blog as it’s so much more dynamic & flexible than having a website on its own.
